Castrol
Castrol – Global Leader in Lubricants
Castrol Limited is a British manufacturer of industrial and automotive lubricants, offering a wide range of oils, greases, and similar products for most lubrication applications. The company was originally named CC Wakefield; the name Castrol was originally just the brand name for CC Wakefield's motor oils, but the company eventually changed its name to Castrol when the product name became better-known than the original company name.
Founded in 1899 by Charles “Cheers” Wakefield, Castrol has been a pioneer in lubricant technology. The brand name "Castrol" originated from the use of castor oil in their early formulations. In 1966, Castrol was acquired by Burmah Oil, and in 2000, Burmah-Castrol merged with BP (British Petroleum), with Castrol remaining as a subsidiary.
Castrol offers a comprehensive range of lubricants tailored for various applications:
- Castrol Classic Oils USA
- Automotive Lubricants: Including engine oils like Castrol EDGE, Magnatec, and GTX, designed to maximize protection, enhance performance, and extend engine life.
- Commercial Vehicle Oils: Products such as Castrol VECTON and CRB, formulated to meet the demands of heavy-duty diesel engines.
- Industrial Lubricants: Including oils like Castrol Hysol and Magna, designed for metalworking and other industrial applications.
- Marine and Energy Lubricants: Specialized oils for marine engines and energy sectors.
